Alsacia (France), 1946. Born in Alsacia in 1946, Müller was educated in the musical tradition of the french and german schools. Mainly recognized as a cello soloist, his carrer has led him to the five continents. In 1979 Müller was named professor of cello at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris, succeeding his teacher, André Navarra. He has formed an impressive number of cellists of the younger generation, many of whom already have remarkable careers of their own. He is regularly invited to give master classes around the world. Müller has recorded extensively for many of the world's prestigious labels with a variety of ensembles. His discography is a reflection of a personality that is equally at home in a variety of styles and repertoires from Vivaldi, Bach, Beethoven and Telemann to Ravel, Martinu and Malec.
