Basil (Switzerland). Eduard Brunner began his musical education in Basil (Switzerland), where he was born, continuing his studies at the Paris Conservatoire with Louis Cahuzac. For long time a clarinet soloist with the Orchestra of the Bayerische Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Rafael Kubelik, he has taught for many years in the School of Saarbrücken of clarinet and chamber music. As solo forms, for four decades, his musical career with concerts and enriched by combining the great classical compositions often with new music. With the same dedication he devoted to lesser-known composers, to clarify the field of the classics and thus reveal their mutual connections. With his vivid interest in contemporary music and encouragement, he has forged many compositions for his instrument, some of them already have a place in music history. Eduard Brunner has recorded over 250 works on CD for clarinet, with important artists like Alfred Brendel, Andras Schiff, Oleg Kagan, Gidon Kremer, Jurij Bashmet, Kim Kashkashian, Natalia Gutman, the Borodin Quartet and the Hagen Quartet.
