Desenzano del Garda (Italy), 1967. Alessandro Carbonare was born in Desenzano del Garda (Northen Italy). After graduating with a performer's degree for clarinet, today he ranks among the world's distinguished clarinet players. Alessandro Carbonare is presently Principal clarinetist with the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia in Rome since 2004. For 15 years he lived in Paris where he was the principal clarinet with the Orchestre National de France. Mr. Carbonare won many prices: he is the clarinet player most awarded in international competitions around the world as Geneve 1990, Prague 1991, Toulon 1991, Duino 1991, ARD Munich 1991 and 1992 and Paris 1992. He has given concerts and made radio recordings all over Europe, North and South America, Canada, Australia and Asia, his concerto appearances include the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Nazional Orchestra of Spain, Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra, Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester, Bayerischer Rundfunk Munich, Wien Sinfonietta, Orchestre National de France, Berlin Radio Orchestra, all major italian orchestras and many others. As principal clarinet he played also with the Berlin Philarmonic Orchestra. Very active in teaching activities (many japanese, american and european universities had Alessandro Carbonare as guest teacher). He is a member of “Il Quintetto Bibiena' with which he won the Munich International competition in '93 and received the prize as 'Italian chamber ensemble of the year (Premio Abbiati)'. With a personal invitation from Claudio Abbado he plays now in his new 'Mozart Orchestra' with the Maestro, Carbonare has played and recorded recently the Mozart basset clarinet concerto K622 for Deutche Gramophone. Next summer he will be Principal clarinet with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra always under Claudio Abbado direction.
