Antoni Ros Marbà: Beethoven - Triple concerto op 56 - III. Rondo alla Polacca

BEETHOVEN, Ludwig van

Concerto for piano, violin, cello and orchestra in C major op 56 'Triple Concerto'

III. Rondo alla Polacca

Antoni Ros Marbà, conductor

Carole Petitdemange, violin

Pablo Ferrández Castro, cello

David Kadouch, piano

Orquesta de Cámara Sony de la Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía

Ros Marbà asks the orchestra to articulate the beginning very well and they play the end of the second movement to link with the third. In violas and cellos, they must set the beat of dance alla polacca properly. In general, the strings need more clarity in articulation and work on specific passages. The soloists should hold the tempo in some moments and the orchestra must follow them to go together. The orchestra must also prepare the cue of the soloists by playing a little pesante. The Maestro clarifies a change of tempo and insists on the need to maintain the speed so as not to distort the Allegro.
