Javier Ayala Romero

Born in Totana (Spain) in 1997. Since 2019, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Oboe Chair with professor Hansjörg Schellenberger. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz. In 2020 and 2021 he received the Diploma to the most outstanding student of his chair.

He studied at Lorca’s Professional Conservatory of Music with José Manuel Sáez and at Murcia’s Conservatory of Music with Francisco José Valero. He has attended masterclasses by Lucas Macías, Ramón Ortega, José Antonio Masmano, Eduardo Martínez, Jesús Fuster, and during the Santander Encounter of Music and Academy, by Dominik Wollenweber.

He has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain, Youth Orchestra of Murcia, Youth Orchestra of Almería, Il Concerto Accademico, Orchestra of the Almansa Festival, and the City of Granada Orchestra, among others. He has been awarded the 2016 National Prize of Education by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. He has also been awarded first prize in his category at the Molina Competition (Murcia) in 2012, 2014, and 2018.

As a student of the School, he has been a member of the Poulenc Ensemble and is currently part of the Fundación Mutua Madrileña, Barroco, Cosan, and Gounod ensembles.
