Inés Issel Burzyńska

Born in Tarragona, Spain, in 2001. Since 2012 she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Telefónica Violin Chair with professor Zakhar Bron. She has been granted scholarships by Consilium de la Familia Puig Guasch y and Fundación Albéniz.

She began her music studies with her mother Iwona Burzyñska. She has studied violin with Eva Graubin, Zakhar Bron, and Yuri Volgin, as well as piano with Vadim Gladkov. She has attended masterclasses by Mauricio Fuks, Christoph Poppen, Oleh Krysa, Miriam Fried, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Ingolf Turban, Giovanni Guzzo, Linus Roth, Bartosz Bryla, Krzysztof Smietana, Wieslaw Kwasny, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Agata Szymczewska, and Alexander Sitkovetsky, Ana Chumachenco, Mihaela Martin, and Ralf Gothóni (groups with piano).

She has won several international competitions, including the first prize at the David Oistrakh International Violin Competition in Astana (Kazakhstan) in December 2023 and, in 2021, the 15th International Violin Competition Wieniawski-Lipinski (Poland), EuroAsia Young Violin Competition (Japan), 6th International Violin Competition Pulawy (Poland) amd “Musical Personality" at the Pila Festival-Academia (Poland). Previously, she was awarded first prize at the international competitions Eugenia Uminska (Poland, 2019), Joven Paganini, Georg Philipp Telemann, Tadeusz Wronski-Naleczów, Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst-Karol Szymanowski (Poland, 2018), 13th Karol Lipinski-Henryk Wieniawski (Poland, 2015), Violines por la Paz of Málaga (2015), City of Vigo (2014, 2015 and 2016, in different categories), Kocian International Violin Competition (Czech Republic, 2011), Ariau Music Performance (Barcelona, 2010).

She has performed as soloist under the baton of Tomasz Bugaj, Lior Shambadal, Maximino Zumalave, Robert Baltar, Vicente Ariño and Zakhar Bron, as well as with Agnieszka Duczmal and the Radio Poland Amadeus Chamber Orchestra; with Marek Wroniszewski and Poland’s Luventus Symphony Orchestra; with Josep Ferrè and the Sant Cugat del Vallés Symphony Orchestra; with Salvador Brotons and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Calalonia; with François López Ferrer and the Verum Symphony Orchestra; with Oscar Navarro and the Santa Cecilia Symphony Orchestra; with Oliver Ochanine and the Krakow Symphony Orchestra; and with Paweł Przytocki and the Jelenia Gora Symphony Orchestra.

Her artistic commitments have led her to perform in prestigious concert halls, both in Poland - Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Centre, Filharmonia Podlaska, Filharmonia Krakowia, Spotkania Kultur Auditorium in Lublin and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan - and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (Austria), Sala De Doelen in Rotterdam (Netherlands) and, in Spain, at the National Auditorium in Madrid, Vigo Mar Auditorium, Sony Auditorium and at the auditoriums of Barcelona and San Cugat del Vallés. She has also participated in the Verbier, Schlesswig-Holstein, Interlaken and Wieniawski festivals.

As a student of the School, she has performed with the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Juanjo Mena and, as a soloist, by Jaime Martín; and with the Fundación EDP Camerata, conducted by Giovanni Guzzo and Paul Goodwin. She has also performed within the AIE en Ruta series in Mérida and León. In 2021 she participated in the 30th anniversary tour of the School with the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, with whom she performed at Madrid's Teatro Real, at Bratislava's Reduta Hall, at Budapest's Liszt Ferenc Academy and at Vienna's Musikverein. She has also been a member of the Art Music and Expresionista duos and the KPMG Schubert Quintet. She is currently part of the KPMG Schubert Cuartet.

She plays an Enrico Rocca violin (1890), loaned by Juan Enrique Carreres, President and General Director of CAGIMA S.L.
