Ma, Ke

Born in Sahnxi (China) in 1994, she was introduced to the piano by her family. At the age of 5 she won the Second Prize in the prestigious National Piano Competition, and subsequently went on to study with Zhong in Beijing. In 2006, she studied with Galina Popova in the Xinghai Conservatory of Music. She was accepted to participate in the International Music Festival and consequently attended master classes and gave performances in Poland and Canada. She has participated in master classes with many great pianists, including Angela Hewitt, Peter Frankl, Huang-Kuan Chen, John Perry and Pascal Devoyon. Since 2011 she studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Christopher Elton with a full scholarship. During her studies, she won several external and internal prizes including the Harriet Cohen Bach Prize and the Harold Craxton Prize, and Third place in Ettlingen (Germany, 2012). She has performed in various venues and has made her first solo recital debut in Wigmore Hall in 2014. She has recently won the First prize in the Shenzhen International Piano Competition, and she will be invited to play with Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and The Sichuan Academy Orchestra in 2015.
