Marcovici, Silvia

Born in Rumania, she studied at the Bucarest Conservatorium. Marcovici made her professional debut with the Residentie Orkest of The Hague under Bruno Maderna, when she was only sixteen years old. In 1972, she was invited by Leopold Stokowski to perform the Glazunov concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall. She appears regularly in North America, South America, Japan, Israel and throughout Europe. She has recorded the ten Beethoven sonatas for violin and piano as well as the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra under Neeme Järvi. Silvia Marcovici plays a P. Albani violin made in circa 1800. She is a refined violinist who performs often with famous pianists, and she has played recently with her son Aimo Pagin. At present she is professor at the Faculty of Music of the Graz University (Austria).

Started her music studies at the Besançon Regional Conservatory where she was awarded several violin and chamber music prizes. She later studied at the Paris Conservatoire obtaining her Higher Musical Studies Diploma. She has received chamber music master classes from the Ysaÿe Quartet. Started her viola education at the Rayonnement Regional in Boulogne-Billancourt. Studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. Plays chamber music under the tutorship of Maestros such as Péter Csaba and Myung-Whun Chung.

Soltani, Kian

He is currently studying cello at the Basle Music Academy with Professor Ivan Monighetti. Kian is also studying piano at the Conservatory in Vorarlberg, Austria. He has won several awards including the Liechtenstein Podium Prize, the City of Dubrovnik Award at the International Rudolf Matz String Competition in Dubrovnik, and first prize at the International Karl Davidoff Cello Competition. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Georgian Chamber Orchestra, the Zagreb Soloists and the Latvian National Symphonic Orchestra. In September 2011 he will perform as a soloist with the Austrian-Slovakian Philharmonic at the Vienna Musikverein.
