Akanè was born in Japan and began to study the piano at the age of 5. In 1984 she entered the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Music in Rome, where she studied with F. Di Cesare and she graduated cum laude at the age of 19. She persued her studies at "Arts Academy"in Rome and then at "Incontri col Maestro" Piano Academy in Imola with G. Valentini, F. Scala, B. Petrushansky, L. Margarius, R. Risaliti and obtained the diploma in 2001. In 2004 she achieved her piano Specialization Degree with Top Grades at "Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia" in the class of Sergio Perticaroli. She partecipated in Masterclasses of K. Bogino, J. Rouvier (Nice International Music Academy), G. Wilson, L. Lortie, C. Rosen, Fou Ts'ong and she completed her studies in Chamber Music with Tchaikovskij Piano Trio and R. Brengola at "Accademia Chigiana" in Siena, where she won a scholarship to take part in the "Holland Moonbeach Festival". She has performed as soloist in most important halls in Italy (Rome, Torino, Prato, Potenza, Bologna, Piacenza, Milano, Venezia, etc.)and abroad (France, Canada, Japan, Chile ); and meanwhile she persued he carrer in duo, trio and piano quartet. She collaborated with "Alter ego" ensemble and she's a member of Monesis Ensemble, the both specialezed in contemporary music. She won several 1st prizes in International Piano Competitions: "Città di Valentino", "Premio Schumann", "Gorgni"; 2nd prizes: "Premio Lucus" (no 1st prizes winner), "Anemos" (no 1st prize winner), "Rendano" (also a special prize for the best "Adagio" by Mozart). In 2003 she won the 2° prize (no 1° prize winner) at "Claudio Arrau International Piano Competition" in Chile.

Cynthia Colombo began studying cello at the age of eight with Giovanni Sollima and bassoon at the age of fourteen with Mauro Russo. She graduated on February 2010 in Cello with Luca Pincini and on July 2010 in Bassoon with Maurizio Barigione at the Conservatory of Music of Trapani. She also continued her studies in 2011-12 and 2012-13 at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Francesco Bossone. She attended masterclasses with Giorgio Mandolesi, Ole Kristian Dahl, Gilbert Audin, Valentino Zucchiatti, Claudio Gonella, Giorgio Versiglia. She won scholarship at the Conservatory of Music 'A. Scontrino' of Trapani and as 1st Bassoon in the Italian Youth Orchestra of Fiesole (Florence). She was resulting at the 1st place at the auditions of Lyrical Symphonic orchestra of Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese and Youth Italian Orchestra of Fiesole, 4th place at the Italian Cinema Orchestra of Rome and Finalist at the Youth Orchestra 'L. Cherubini' of Piacenza and at the EUYO (European Union Youth Orchestra). She won the 2nd prize at the 6th National Competition of Music "TuttArte" di Paternò and at the 14th National Competition for Young Musicians "Città di Palermo" - Chamber Music; the 3rd prize at the 13th National Competition for Young Musicians "Città di Palermo" - Chamber Music - and at the 4th National Competition for Young Musicians - Balestrate (PA) - Solist. She has played with many orchestras such as North East Wales Sinfonia - UK; Accademia Nazionale di 'Santa Cecilia' of Rome - Italy; Italian Cinema Orchestra of Rome - Italy; Sicilian Symphony Orchestra of Palermo - Italy; Youth Italian Orchestra of Fiesole - Florence - Italy; Youth Orchestra 'L. Cherubini' of Piacenza - Italy; Liric and Symphonic Orchestra of Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese - Italy; Mediterranean Orchestra of Palermo - Italy; Conductors under whom she has played: Riccardo Muti, John Axelrod, Edward Gardner, Pinchas Zukerman, Asher Fisch, Dennis Russel Davies, Oleksiy Baklan, Nicola Piovani, Aldo Ceccato, Steven Mercurio, Ivo Lipanovic, Donato Renzetti, Nicola Paszkowski, Angelo Faja, Giampaolo Pretto, Renato Rivolta, Mario Brunello. In July 2011 she recorded the CD 'Il volo' with three tenors of 'Ti lascio una canzone' and Italian Cinema Orchestra, conductor Steven Mercurio. She wrote and published with Laura Colombo the book 'Costruire le ance per oboe e fagotto' (Reeds Construction Method).
